Underfloor heating can be a great way to quickly and relatively easily add value and comfort to you home, here's our reasons why it's a good investment.
You can isolate different rooms and areas.
Underfloor heating allows you to have different 'areas’, which can all be controlled individually. If the room is big enough you can even split the room and have 2 separate control units.
If you have a big open-plan space like a kitchen diner, splitting the room can enable you to use it in different ways i.e a warmer dining space where people will be spending more time.
It can be installed in most homes.
It can be installed below stone, tile, wood or carpet (as long as the carpet isn’t really thick - a 1.5 tog is normally considered the maximum thickness). It is possible to install it in new build projects or during a refurbishment/renovation. The most popular room for people to install underfloor heating in is their bathroom.
A survey found that: 55% of people have their underfloor heating installed in their bathroom,46% in their kitchen area, 26% in their living room and 24% in their hallway.
Toasty warm feet!
It distributes heat evenly and consistently around each room and as the system can run when required, or be on throughout the night, you can ditch those slippers and still have warm feet day and night!
Less wasted energy, lower bills
Your floors will stay warm, even if doors/windows are open and the room is prone to drafts. A water based heating system can save you money against a standard radiator led system as it operates at a lower and more consistent temperature so a suitably sized unit can heat a larger area than an individual radiator.
Due to it being installed out of sight it doesn’t spoil your décor or take up space with bulky radiators. Whilst some people love the look of a radiator in their room many people are now realising both the space savings and the added flexibility that comes with being able to ‘go rad-less’
It's been around for a while now but underfloor heating is still seen as a modern and luxurious addition to the home which can lead to a potential increase in value.
Estate agents in Essex are claiming it’s one of the most sought after home improvements/features that potential buyers are asking for when detailing what their next home should have.
It can make your home more hygienic
A warmer floor temperature is not an ideal climate for dust mites. As well as space saving, removing your radiators means you also remove the huge amount of dust that gathers around and behind them.
Meaning the dust and any dust mites in your room will be drastically reduced leaving you with warmer feet and less bugs!
It’s installed by fully trained and accredited professionals.
